A stunning building that has been completed in harmony with nature.

Unique buildings infuse vitality and inspiration into our daily lives, whether we are aware of it or not.

Today, we’ll introduce you to some intriguing buildings that you can explore firsthand throughout Korea!

Let's begin😎

Kosmos Ulleungdo is a distinctive spiral structure designed to harmonize with the trajectories of the sun and moon. This resort is perched on the edge of a cliff adjacent to Songgotsan Mountain in Ulleungdo. Its exterior features six spirals that gracefully curve outward from the center of the building, resembling the petals of a cosmos flower. Upon entering each space, you are momentarily shielded from the outside by the spiral structure, but gradually become more open to the interior, revealing a unique perspective in each area. This design allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the stunning architecture and natural beauty. The exclusive ‘Cosmos’ suite, priced at over 10 million won per day, offers a premium experience, including limousine service, comprehensive transportation and boat arrangements, as well as personalized services from a dedicated chef and butler. They offer a diverse selection of rooms at various price points, so feel free to explore your options!

Graphic has an exterior with a dense texture of white color. This unique establishment, characterized by its unconventional shape and absence of doors, windows, or signage, serves primarily as a bookstore specializing in comic books and art books. The distinctive exterior texture is said to be inspired by the cross-section of a thick paper dictionary, effectively conveying the feel of paper. Upon entering through the narrow passageway, visitors are greeted by light cascading from the ceiling, illuminating the entire space from the third floor to the first. This venue is dedicated to reading, and to foster a comfortable environment for each individual, the height and design of the furniture vary according to 9 different reading postures. For a fee, patrons can enjoy unlimited access throughout the day, along with a selection of beverages, including beer, highballs, wine, and whiskey, available at the bar on the third floor.

Singil Middle School is a building that won the grand prize at the Korea Architecture Awards. This building, designed through a design competition with the theme of ‘A school like a home in the village, a school you want to go to,’ was said to have aimed to be ‘a school like a home for students growing up in high-rise apartments.’ Its design resembles a cluster of country houses with pointed triangular roofs. By creating yards, terraces, and gardens that are easily accessible from the classroom, students can connect with nature and feel comfortable. It's a cozy place where you can feel the architect's intention to approach in an intimate and non-intimidating manner, as the building is surrounded by high-rise apartments over 20 stories high. Explore this innovative school that redefines educational spaces!

KangKamchan Community Garden is a space that catches the eye with its mysterious exterior that looks like a greenhouse moved inside the building. This greenhouse complex was created as a multipurpose space for urban agriculture education and activity support. Recognized for its aesthetic appeal, it received the Excellence Award at the Korea Public Architecture Award. However, its significance extends beyond its architectural beauty. The garden fosters vitality for those aspiring to engage in urban agriculture, featuring a barrier-free vegetable garden accessible to individuals in wheelchairs and a seed library showcasing 250 varieties of seeds. Notably, the program that cultivates, exhibits, and distributes native seeds has gained immense popularity. If you aspire to become a city farmer, this is a must-visit destination!

Kimgeuntae Memorial LibraryㆍArchives is a distinctive building featuring a warm, soft ivory exterior and large, three-dimensional windows. It resembles an art gallery or exhibition hall more than a traditional library. In addition to its stunning exterior, the interior is uniquely designed, allowing visibility of the central area from anywhere within the building due to its open layout. This facility serves as a multifaceted cultural space for local residents, encompassing various areas such as exhibition halls, reading rooms, and lecture spaces. As a venue that welcomes all community members, it includes thoughtfully designed areas catering to everyone, from children to the elderly. We highly recommend visiting the outdoor space, ‘Sanbaramgil,’ where the breathtaking views in all directions, including a stunning vista of Dobongsan Mountain, are truly spectacular!

ST Songeun Building, a non-profit art institution located in Cheongdam-dong, a prominent commercial district of Seoul, boasts an unconventional design. Its triangular shape resembles a massive sculpture on display, deviating from the typical square structures we are accustomed to. The exterior walls of this expansive concrete edifice, which appear somewhat closed off, are adorned with patterns of pine trees, offering a warm texture to the touch. Moreover, the ground floor, accessible to visitors, features large glass windows that invite natural light and showcase a small garden filled with greenery, creating a sense of openness. The second and third floors serve as exhibition spaces, allowing visitors to appreciate both the spaciousness and the art within. We highly recommend exploring both the interior and exterior of the building, as you'll uncover hidden areas that are not visible from the outside!
