Autumn and Winter at the Lake, and the Luminaries is a celebration of the fall and winter seasons at Seokchon Lake, which began in October 2024. As this year's festival concludes in February, if you haven't had the chance to visit, now is the perfect time. Luminaries is a illuminated structures created with light bulbs, transforming the lake into a dazzling display. Messages embodying the theme of this festival, ‘Dream, Universe & Love,’ are illuminating the lake with vibrant LED lights! Starting from the main entrance at the East Lake, visitors are welcomed by Luminary light gates, which line the East Lake walking path and the Seokchon Lake Bridge. The festival also includes enchanting Luminary tunnels, firefly paths, laser roads, and the Gobo Light Road, all of which beautifully illuminate the walking path around Seokchon Lake. Since this is a light festival, the most breathtaking views occur in the evening after sunset. So we recommend taking a leisurely stroll around Seokchon Lake after enjoying dinner at the Bangi-dong food alley to fully experience the magic of the festival!

Tamnaguk is an ancient term for Jeju Island, and Tamna-guk Ip-chun Gut is a festival celebrated on the island to pray for abundance in the spring. Ipchun is one of the 24 solar terms established to mark the changing seasons based on the sun's position along the ecliptic, signifying the onset of spring. Ip-chun Gut, a ritual performed in Jeju villages on Ipchun Day, is a traditional ceremony that seeks blessings for bountiful harvests and welcomes the new season. While Ip-chun Gut itself carries profound historical significance, it's also important to consider the location where this ritual takes place. Jejumok Gwana Government Office, the site of Ip-chun Gut, has served as the center of Jeju since ancient times and was the office of administrative officials. Among its notable structures, Gwandeokjeong, built during the Joseon Dynasty, stands as the oldest preserved building in Jeju and serves as the focal point of Ip-chun-Gut. Join in celebrating the arrival of spring at this festival, which prays for harmony and abundance within our community!

Jeongwol Daeboreum, the first full moon day of the lunar year, is celebrated as a Korean holiday dedicated to praying for a bountiful harvest and good health. In 2025, you can immerse yourself in abundance and wellness at the Great Full Moon Festival, hosted by the National Folk Museum of Korea! Experience the scenery of the Jeongwol Daeboreum through a video presentation. At the festival, you can engage in various customs associated with the first full moon, such as erecting rice straw poles and making wishes for the year ahead. You will also have the opportunity to sample traditional foods, including burum and yakbap. On the Jeongwol Daeboreum, people bite the burum with their molars in the hope that the year will be safe and prosperous. It’s primarily made from peanuts, chestnuts, walnuts, and pine nuts. Additionally, you can create a doll called Je-ung, which serves as a talisman to ward off evil spirits, while praying for only good fortune in the coming year. Finally, enjoy an exhilarating celebration of the first full moon through traditional Korean performances that honor this special occasion!
