It's the last day of exploring the unfamiliar city in Korea.

So far, we have introduced Tongyeong in Gyeongsang-do and Yeosu in Jeolla-do.

The final city we’ll introduce is a place where Korea's traditional beauty truly shines.

This is Buyeo, located in Chungcheongnam-do, a historical site that preserves ancient culture!

Let's begin😎

Gungnamji is the first artificial pond in Korea, boasting a history of approximately 1,400 years. Although it has been restored, remnants of an island in the center of the pond remain, suggesting that it was once much larger. The wooden bridge leading to the island and the pavilion situated on it, reflecting beautifully on the water, enhance the pond's charm. These features contribute to the pond's renowned night view, which is particularly stunning when illuminated by sparkling lights. Gungnamji is a picturesque tourist destination that captivates visitors in all four seasons. In July, countless lotus flowers bloom, while from October to November, a chrysanthemum exhibition takes place, adorning various areas of Gungnamji with an array of artistic displays. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around this historic pond, nestled within a tranquil and serene park!

Gyuam Village is a charming locale in Buyeo that captivates visitors with its naturally retro ambiance while preserving its historical essence. Once a thriving community, Gyuam Village fell into obscurity after a bridge was constructed, prompting residents to relocate across the river to Buyeo. However, as craftsmen and artists began to inhabit the village, which was dotted with vacant houses and shops, it transformed into a trendy retro travel destination. The standout attraction of Gyuam Village is ChaegbangSegan, which was ingeniously reimagined from an 80-year-old tobacco shop rather than being demolished. Remnants of the original store owner can be found not only within the building but also throughout the surrounding area. Explore this peaceful and picturesque village, where many artists, including those at ChaegbangSegan, have settled due to the soaring rents of the prominent cultural district. Come and experience the charm for yourself!

The Buyeo Royal Tombs has the aligned royal tombs of Baekje, and their significance has been recognized, making them part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Baekje Historic Areas. There're a total of seven royal tombs in this location, with the tombs of the royal family and nobles situated around them. Although the site is not large in scale and does not feature many spectacular sights, it serves as a meaningful tourist attraction in Buyeo, which is rich in relics from the ancient kingdom of Baekje, dating back a thousand years. Visitors can also enter the tomb replicas to observe what the interiors of the tombs actually looked like. In addition to the tombs, there're temple sites that remain only as traces, and by aligning these sites with a large film frame, one can faintly visualize the ancient temple. This location is also cherished for its well-maintained landscaping and leisurely exploration paths.

Garimseong is a mountain fortress of Baekje, built 1,500 years ago. It has become a popular tourist attraction, featuring the Love Tree at its summit, which serves as a favored photo spot. The Garimseong Zelkova tree, located at the top of Garimseong, is affectionately known as the Love Tree due to its branches resembling a heart. This tree is estimated to be over 400 years old, and the view from the fortress is breathtaking. When photographing this tree, you may wonder why it appears heart-shaped. This effect is achieved by taking one of the two pictures in the opposite direction, creating a heart shape. This technique allows you to capture unique images with your partner or friend. If you visit during sunset, you can take even more stunning photographs, as the sky is beautifully illuminated by the setting sun. Therefore, planning your visit around sunset would be an excellent idea!
