Discevering Seoul on Foot: Jamsil

2023-08-31

Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, is full of large-scale apartment complexes, but it holds Seoul’s unique heritages. The unique sense of place accumulated over time makes people of all generations visit this place. If you want to experience Seoul’s modern identity, we suggest you visiting the Jamsil-dong. The beginning of a walk to Seoul’s past and present starts from the Lotte Concert Hall located at Lotte World Tower.

This symbolic cultural facility is the second classical concert hall built in Seoul after the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-dong. If you take the exclusive elevator from the Lotte World Tower of overwhelming scale, you will find a Vineyard-style concert hall that boasts state-of-the-art facilities. This place is unique in that it is located at the top of a large shopping mall. It is the first large-scale concert hall in Korea with a pipe organ installed, therefore has received great attention from classical lovers. If you are curious about the charm of cross-border classical music and the present and future of Korean classical music, we recommend you visit this place.

After enjoying a high-quality classical concert, it is also a good choice to look around the Seokchon lake. Join the parade of people who take a walk, chat on a bench, or spend a quiet time staring at the lake. Always keep in mind that the subtlety of travelling is enjoying the composure. Then, as the end of the trail approaches, echoes of pleasant roars are heard from the Lotte World, an amusement park of dreams and hopes, within a short distance. The wonderful magic castle that resembles a fairy tale shows off its fantastic appearance.

Shall we take a picture with Lotte World, Seoul’s modern landmark, in the background and move to another Seoul heritage. It is the Olympic Park. The Olympic Park, which was built to commemorate the 1988 Seoul Olympics, has wonderful trails between green grass-filled hills. In addition, there is the Seoul Hanseong Baeje Museum, Hanseong Baekje Museum, where visitors can explore the ancient history of Seoul and the world's fifth largest sculpture park with 210 sculptures installed. The KSPO DOME, where the dreamy performances of various K-POP artists as well as world-class celebrities, are held, is also located in the Olympic Park.

Editor's Comments: It is a Korean beef restaurant located on the second floor of the Jisan Building near the Hanseong Baekje station, and the taste of Korean beef eaten by the window with a panoramic view of the Olympic Park is superb. The combination of rich flavor and soft meat from the exquisite marbling of world-class Korean beef is superior. Korean beef rib eye and Korean beef tenderloin are the signature menus of Han-Aram. Overall, the price is not low, but you can enjoy the best Korean beef in a clean interior. If you want to experience a special gourmet meal, we recommend a Korean beef double cheeseburger.
